Magnum Giné Giné 2018

Elaboration: The different varieties are fermented separately at a temperature of 26 ºC to 28 ºC. The maceration is long; followed by the malolactic fermentation. Once this process is completed, the coupage and the bottling are carried out.

Characteristics: Dry red wine, with the ripe grape bouquet typical of the Priorat Grenache and Carignan varieties.

Recommendations: Drink at temperatures between 16 ºC and 18 ºC, up to 3 years after elaboration.

Quantity

Grape varieties: 50% Grenache and 50% Carignan.

Type of soil: “Llicorella” (slate from the Palaeozoic Era, Carboniferous Period)

Origin: Approximately 50% vines between 20 and 30 years old and 50% old vines, on slopes, from the districts of Bellmunt, Gratallops, La Vilella Baixa, El Molar, La Vilella Alta, El Lloar and Torroja.

Alcohol content: Between 14% and 15% by vol.

Pairing: A wine characterised above all by its enormous versatility. It combines very well with foods with floral touches, with aromatic herbs, pepper, anise or cinnamon, balsamic touches, toast or pastries, and also with robust, meaty fish. It is also good to have it by itself in a cooler temperature to enjoy a Priorat wine without interferences.

Concerning the most suitable cooking methods, it is difficult to make a selection… it is a wine conceived to accompany all types of food! But we could single out stews and casseroles, spicy dishes and risottos.
